Rider dies in motorcycle-truck collision in Quezon
LUCENA CITY — A helmetless motorcycle rider died on Monday night, June 9, after his vehicle collided with a truck in Agdangan, Quezon, police said.
The Quezon police reported on Tuesday, June 10, that motorcyclist “Joseph,, 53, was traveling in Barangay Salvacion at 8:40 p.m. when he bumped into an oncoming aluminum van truck driven by “Rolando.”.
Joseph, who was not wearing a crash helmet, suffered grave injuries. Rescuers rushed him to a hospital in neighboring Unisan, but was declared dead on arrival.

Wearing crash helmets for motorcycle riders is mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
Investigators found out that the motorcycle occupied the opposite lane when it was negotiating a curved section of the road, which led to the collision.
Both parties were working out an amicable settlement, the police said
