P3.4-M worth of shabu, gun seized from 7 suspects in Rizal
LUCENA CITY – Police in Rizal province arrested seven suspected traffickers in buy-bust operations on Friday and Saturday (June 6 and 7), seizing more than P3.4-million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm.
In a report, the Police Region 4A said members of Rodriguez drug enforcement unit nabbed “Jojie,” “Mary,” “Jounsp,” and “Derry” after they sold P2,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay (village) Geronimo at around 7 p.m.
The law enforcers seized from the suspects five knot-tied plastics and five sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 500 grams, valued at about P3,400,000 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s assessment at P6,800 per gram and a digital weighing scale.

Jojie and Mary are on the police drug watch list as high-value individuals (HVI) in the drug trade. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
Their two associates are identified as street pushers in the locality.
Policemen in Binangonan also held “Ralph” and “Leandro” in a sting operation in Barangay Calumpang at around 9:30 p.m.
The suspects, both tagged as HVI, were caught in alleged possession of five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth P53,516.
Authorities also seized the suspects’ two mobile phones, which they will check for possible records of drug transactions.
In Teresa town, anti-narcotics agents collared street pusher “Randy” in a drug bust operation in Barangay May-Iba and seized P2,040 worth of shabu.
During routine frisking, the cops also found the suspect carrying an undocumented caliber .38 revolver with two bullets.
All suspects are under police custody and will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Randy will also face a case for illegal possession of a firearm and violation of the election gun ban. /jpv
