MANILA, Philippines — A panel of the Commission on Appointments (CA) has recommended the confirmation of Vivencio “Vince” Dizon’s ad interim appointment as the country’s transportation chief.

No members of the CA’s transportation panel objected when a motion to recommend Dizon’s appointment was raised on Tuesday.
The panel’s recommendation was then transmitted for approval to the plenary, which has been rescheduled for a later date.
In February, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Dizon as the secretary of the Department of Transportation, replacing Jaime Bautista, who had resigned for health reasons.

Before he was appointed transportation chief, Dizon last served in government as president and chief executive officer of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority.
He was also former President Rodrigo Duterte’s adviser for flagship infrastructure programs and pandemic response./mcm
