MANILA, Philippines — A 16-year-old individual was caught allegedly with illegal drugs valued at P1.3 million in Pasig City, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said.

The arrest stemmed from a buy-bust operation in Pinagbuhatan early Friday morning, acting on a report from a private informant validated by police through surveillance, the EPD said in a statement Saturday.

The teenager, identified by police as “Ken,” was caught allegedly possessing 30 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with suspected shabu (crystal meth) weighing 191.1 grams valued at P1.30 million.

They were also found allegedly in possession of a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet with suspected dried marijuana leaves (kush) weighing 15.8 grams valued at P23,700.

The Pasig City Social Welfare Department took custody of the child in conflict with the law.
