MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recorded a total of 797 traffic violations on the third day of the reimplementation of the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
In a Viber message to reporters on Thursday morning, the MMDA said that the 797 traffic violators were caught from 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday to 12:01 a.m. on Thursday.

The new record indicates a lower number of violations compared to the first two days of NCAP reimplementation.
On Monday, the MMDA logged 1,112 offenses, while 952 traffic violations were recorded on Tuesday.
The offenses were primarily for ignoring traffic signs, violating bus lanes, and engaging in illegal loading and unloading.
MMDA Traffic Enforcement Group Director Victor Nuñez recently stated that the recorded violations under NCAP were also “relatively low” compared to the over 3,900 offenses they recorded on May 19, when the policy had not yet been reimplemented.

The government resumed implementation of NCAP on May 26. The policy would be implemented 24/7 along 10 radial roads in Metro Manila, such as Edsa, Commonwealth Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Taft Avenue, and Aurora Boulevard. /das/abc
