LPA spotted southeast of Palawan

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted southeast of Palawan on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
According to Pagasa weather specialist Chenel Dominguez, the low-pressure area (LPA) was located 295 kilometers south-southeast of Kalayaan, Palawan as of 3 a.m., and is embedded within the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

“This LPA is not expected to become a typhoon, but we expect it to bring scattered rains here in Palawan,” Dominguez said in Filipino during a weather forecast.
The effects of the ITCZ and the easterlies are also expected to persist in the other parts of the country.
The ITCZ is expected to bring overcast skies and rain over Western Visayas, the Negros Island region, and the entire Mindanao.
The easterlies, on the other hand, will bring cloudy skies and rain over Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.
For Luzon, including Metro Manila, expect hot and humid temperatures to continue, especially around noon, while high chances of thunderstorms persist in the afternoon and evening.
Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Tuesday will be the following:
- Metro Manila: 26 to 35 degrees Celsius
- Baguio City: 17 to 26 degrees Celsius
- Laoag City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Tuguegarao: 27 to 37 degrees Celsius
- Legazpi City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Tagaytay: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Cebu: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tacloban City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Cagayan De Oro City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Zamboanga City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Davao City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
