Cloudy skies, rain all over PH due to ITCZ, easterlies — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with rain will prevail all over the country on Sunday, brought by two weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau warned of cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Palawan due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, were forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms brought by easterlies.

Pagasa added that as of 8 a.m., no low-pressure areas are being monitored for tropical cyclone formation.

‘Danger’ heat index forecast in 24 areas

Meanwhile, the state weather bureau said the heat index under the “danger” level is expected over 24 areas in the country.
