Rain shower, thunderstorm alert in NCR, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected in Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, and Bulacan on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 1:05 p.m., Pagasa stated that rain and thunderstorms are forecast in the said areas in the next two hours.

Rain showers and thunderstorms, meantime, are already being experienced in Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig, Iba), Quezon (Infanta, Real, Burdeos, Polillo), Laguna (Bay, Calauan, Alaminos, Los Banos, San Pablo), and Batangas (Santo Tomas).

Pagasa said it may persist within the next two hours and affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” said Pagasa.
